Swansea and West Wales Cycling

Welcome to the Swansea and West Wales District Association of the Cyclists' Touring Club.

The Swansea DA has three sections based in Swansea, and one in Pembrokeshire.

About the CTC:

Founded in 1878, the CTC (Cyclists' Touring Club) works to promote and to defend cyclists' rights. The CTC has over 65, 000 members and affiliated members. For over a century the CTC has, in addition to promoting cycling as a means of transport and recreation, campaigned for improving conditions for cyclists, fought unfair legislation and encouraged technical improvements to the bicycle. Members have access to the CTC's impressive experience through its Policy and Planning, Touring, Technical, Legal Aid and Insurance departments and also the local campaign and recreation groups.

The CTC's network of local groups offer a range of activities: on- and off-road rides at a range of speeds over a range of distances, social evenings, weekends at youth hostels, B&Bs or camping, sometimes longer tours. The organisation is through District Associations (DAs) - originally county organisations. These are usually divided into more local riding sections. All of them welcome new members, but please get in touch first to find out which of their activities suit you.
